UCLA Parkinson's Disease Gait Study
We are now enrolling people with Parkinson's disease who experience Freezing of Gait and Healthy older people
This study investigates how brain activity relates to walking problems in Parkinson's disease to improve future treatments for these disabling symptoms.
The study involves:
- One study visit at UCLA lasting up to 3 hours
- Questionairres and cognitive/motor assessments
- Walking task in a clinic setting while wearing an electrode cap (EEG), small backpack and motion sensors
- $25 per hour compensation and parking voucher
You may be eligible if you:
- Have experienced Freezing of Gait: difficulty initiating or continuing walking, often with the sensation of the feet being glued to the floor.
- Can walk after skipping morning Parkinson's medications
- Can walk indoors without a cane or walker
- Do not have dementia
