This study investigates how brain activity relates to walking problems in Parkinson's disease to improve future treatments for these disabling symptoms.

The study involves: 

  • One study visit at UCLA lasting up to 3 hours
  • Questionairres and cognitive/motor assessments
  • Walking task in a clinic setting while wearing an electrode cap (EEG), small backpack and motion sensors
  • $25 per hour compensation and parking voucher

You may be eligible if you:

  • Have experienced Freezing of Gait: difficulty initiating or continuing walking, often with the sensation of the feet being glued to the floor.
  • Can walk after skipping morning Parkinson's medications
  • Can walk indoors without a cane or walker
  • Do not have dementia
